Megan is a keen and enthusiastic occupational therapist. As a psychology major in her undergraduate studies at the University of Victoria, Megan is passionate about all things mental health. She recognizes the presence of mental health in all areas of one’s life especially when recovering from physical injury or a loss of meaningful activities. With the use of creative and innovative problem-solving Megan looks forward to helping you reach your goals whatever they may be. She values the importance in helping you return to the activities you want to do, need to do and are expected to do!
As an individual who identifies with the hard of hearing community Megan considers herself a strong advocate for both herself and her clients. Megan’s outgoing and warm personality along with her client-centered approach fosters collaboration and trust. She uses the pronouns she/her and considers herself an ally for the LGBTQ+ community.
She considers one’s diverse experiences and cultures and adapts treatment to each client’s individual needs, goals and values. She has a fun personality and aims to incorporate laughter and fun activities into her treatment whenever possible!
Megan’s clinical experience has focused on return to work, pain management, active rehabilitation, mental health support (PTSD, anxiety, depression), mindfulness practices, community homecare, fall prevention, ergonomics and equipment, acute care and support for children and families in crisis. Megan spent most of her past working life before becoming an OT working with pediatric (ages 2-18) and older adult populations.
Megan was born and raised in Victoria and grew up in the Cordova Bay community. She was actively involved playing sports just down the road at Lochside park and enjoyed growing up so close to both the lake and the ocean! Megan considers herself to be a curious and enthusiastic learner who seeks constant opportunities for growth and discovery. Megan is excited to be servicing her community alongside other experienced clinicians! When not in the clinic you will find Megan spending time with her family and friends, cooking new dishes in her kitchen or out spending time in nature!
