Why Speech Therapy?
Challenges with communication can be frustrating and isolating. It can impact our ability to develop and maintain meaningful relationships and to participate fully in school or work. Tall Tree provides evidence-based, family-centred speech therapy treatment to support your communication needs. We also provide speech therapy for kids!
No matter your age, our registered speech-language pathologists work with you to collaboratively identify goals and deliver targeted interventions.
We'll work together to build communication skills to maximize function and support participation in all areas of life.
What to Expect - SLP Therapy
Initial Visit: 60 minutes
Subsequent visits: 60 minutes
Speech therapy begins with a comprehensive assessment where we develop a personalized treatment plan for you.
Treatment visit length depends on your specific needs, with kids having shorter 30 minute appointments and most adults having a 60min visit.

Booking an appointment with us is easy, and we’re here to assist you every step of the way. These appointments are key for understanding your needs and providing ongoing support to help you achieve your goals.
Funding Assistance Available
For Children

The following is applicable if you have extended health care plans AND your child is listed as a dependent.
To find out if your extended health care covers speech-language services, call or email your provider. Be sure to ask if they cover both assessment and/or treatment. Some providers will also cover parent coaching separately. If your provider does not cover speech-language services, click here to download a request for services letter to send your employer.
We may be able to provide direct billing for the following providers and more:

Through the Jordan’s Principle program, all First Nations children are eligible to receive the funds for the health, social, educational, and therapeutic services they need. This includes funding for speech-language assessment and treatment. You can find more information about Jordan’s Principle in the handbook created by the Assembly of First Nations. For children aged 6-18, up to $6,000 per year can be used towards speech-language pathologists, behaviour consultants, occupational therapists, or physical therapists. Find out more at:

Support Our Troops provides funding for military families with special needs, including speech-language pathology.

Funding is provided for children who were adopted through the Ministry of Children and Family Development and who are in need of therapy services, including speech-language pathology. Families must work with their Adoption Social worker to apply for this funding. For more information, visit the:

Children under 18 years of age who have been assessed as dependent for at least three activities of daily living (eating, dressing, washing, toileting), are eligible for $3,840 per year for at-home services through the At Home Program. This funding can be used towards speech-language services provided in the home.

Several charity organizations offer grants or funding for rehabilitation services. You will need to reach out to each charity for up to date offerings and services covered.

Worksafe BC provides up to $160.00 per clinical visit for employees who have suffered a work-related injury or disease requiring the services of a speech-language pathologist. More information can be found on:

For those involved in automobile accidents, ICBC provides coverage to access rehabilitation services, which may include speech-language pathology. You may need to speak with your adjuster to receive approval for funding. If you are currently receiving other rehabilitation services (physical therapy, occupational therapy, counseling, etc.), your clinicians can contact your adjuster to advocate for access to speech-language services as well.

You may be eligible for the Government of Canada’s Disability Tax Credit (DTC.) The purpose of the DTC is to provide for greater tax equity by allowing some relief for disability costs. More information can be found on the Government of Canada’s website or by calling 1800-959-8281.
